Right now in Milan the Design Week is taking place and we are looking forward to tell you more about our trip there.
Fuori Salone is always the best chance to enjoy and learn about the city of Milan.
After so many years we are still surprised by hidden corners and in this period the courtyards of the palaces, which we think are the coolest feature and usually inaccessible, are open to the world with their gardens and exhibition spaces.
Few weeks ago we decided to visit Salone del Mobile because it is the most important fair in the furniture manufacturing world and it is not only important for the operators but also for inspirations.
The exhibition is huge and there’s so much to see that it is difficult to make a report after only visiting for one day, so below we’ll tell you what we think is relevant to our search for traditional Italian artisans.
We started from Salone Satellite where young designers are hosted, this years it was focused on “New materials, new design” and where, among others, we had the pleasure of meeting again Eugenia Minerva Design who in the past had fascinated us for his work with woven reeds made by artisans and fishermen of the coasts of Puglia.
Getting straight to the heart of the Salone, we had the first impact with the beautiful exhibition“Before design: classic”, with a display of classical style pieces told along a path of eight different rooms and creating a feeling of contemporary environment.
